Daylight and Incandescent Sources In Contrast

This summer, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel with a company of current UCI students and alumni  to St. Louis to perform Annie Loui's Jane Eyre.  While in St. Louis, I visited the City Museum, a textile factory turned into an industrial playground.  I captured this photo in their 10-story slide area.  Above is a skylight letting the daylight cast over a pipe organ lit from below by an incandescent light.  I always find it interesting the way we perceive daylight. We usually want to think about daylight as warm, golden light.  However, most of our light is blue light scattered by the atmosphere.  When put up against the warm glow of an incandescent source, we see the beautifully dramatic contrast that these two varieties of light create.
